How and when did you meet?

We are both long haul airline crew and met through friends at work! In March 2002. By December of the same year I had moved to Holland and we bought our home together.

How old are you both?

I am 35 and Ed is 32.

Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?

It was so romantic to me. On my birthday last year, in bed at breakfast time! Just the two of us and it was so beautiful and emotional! My parents were also staying with us at the time, for a few days and they were elated!

Did you have hen and stag celebrations? If so, what did you do?

Ed had a stag do with his friends which involved paint-balling and bowling, getting very drunk and playing cards until the early morning hours. I went to London to stay with my best friend. Many of my good friends stayed with her too. She treated me to a treatment at the hair salon and then we got glammed up, drinking champagne! She has arranged a limo to collect all of my friends to go to a trendy Italian Restaurant in the heart of Chelsea, London. We got chatting to some ex Chelsea football players – Zola and a few others too! It was so special with all my pals…following that, the limo took us to a cool club in Kensington where my brother joined us! It was so much fun!

How did your groom help with the wedding planning?

Eddy is amazingly creative and worked on the table plans in a completely unique way, plus the table cards. He made a special surprise DVD about me, for us all to see on our wedding evening. He was involved from the beginning to the end, with everything and really shared my excitement.

Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?

Confetti was fantastic and I was constantly going on the website to see what else I could find out to help us with our planning!.

Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?

I did order various items from Confetti. I loved the blank cards and confetti to pop inside. The stickers we used on each envelope too for every invite that was sent out.

Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it.

My dress was from Monsoon and fit me like a glove. It was an empire style dress in cream and with beautiful beading so simple and stylish.

Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?

No, I did not have bridesmaids but my sister was my witness.

Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?

My husband chose his best friend, Jasper, to take on the role of best man.

Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?

We had our civil ceremony in the morning of the Tuesday and the following day we had our Anglican Gazebo Wedding Blessing. It was breathtaking and in the Island of Cyprus.

Where did you hold your ceremony?

Our ceremony was held at Zucchinis in Peyia, near Paphos, Cyprus. Out of this world!

Where did you hold your reception?

Our reception was also held in the same place and just fantastic setting, with flowers everywhere and a view to die for!

Did you have any special wedding transport?

I arrived with my father in a white Mercedes and my husband and the guests arrived in an air-conditioned bus.

How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?

We had 40 guests.

Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?

We chose hot pink and lime green as a particular favourite theme of ours.

How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?

On a backdrop of white there was the most amazing burst of colours from the flowers and decorations.

Did you give your guests favours?

My husband is Dutch and I am British and so we incorporated Dutch and English gifts, including sweets, seeds and for the men – Dutch gin or Tanquerey Gin and for fun we gave them English or Dutch funky hats to wear(football hats. We were married around the few weeks of the World cup!

Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?

We used hot pink gerberas and lime green roses and lime green and hot pink orchids mainly.

What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?

Zucchinis are amazing and our menu offered our guests three choices for starter, main and sweet.

What did you choose for your wedding cake, and who made it?

We chose three layers – chocolate, lemon drizzle and tropical rum.

Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?

We chose Greek dancers for an hour which was great fun and our good friend Esther is a professional singer and she sang ‘You’ve got a friend.’

Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?

We had no gift list. Most of our guests gave us money to put towards something nice for the future.

Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?

Our parents booked us in at The Elysium hotel in Cyprus, in the top suite, with a king sized bed, private bar, jacuzzi and more…it was awesome. Oh, and a vintage bottle of champagne arrived 10 minutes after we arrived into our room! Perfect!

What was your most memorable moment of the day?

It was all so memorable. Being with the man I love, our daughter Lucie and all my family and close friends in one place, all celebrating our love. It was magical! Oh ,and our sunset photos were stunning too.

Did you experience any ‘nightmare’ moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?

Not really, although I could have been more organised with booking my toe nails to be pampered at an earlier date. By the time I called the salon in Paphos, it was a day before and in the end she couldn’t see me so I had to do my toes myself…they looked okay though.

Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?

Check, check and double check all your arrangements and just relax and enjoy every single moment as the day passes quickly!
